Curcumin – the spice of life

Curcumin: The spice of life I giggled a little bit about that title. It’s true though! OK, it’s true for me.  It’s not just delicious in butter chicken or curries (better known as Turmeric). It actually has amazing benefits for our bodies because of its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.  I’m not making this up! Here’s the article:

“The desirable preventive or putative therapeutic properties of curcumin have also been considered to be associated with its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Because free-radical-mediated peroxidation of membrane lipids and oxidative damage of DNA and proteins are believed to be associated with a variety of chronic pathological complications such as cancer, atherosclerosis, and neurodegenerative diseases, curcumin is thought to play a vital role against these pathological conditions.”

As Angus started aging, I started adding turmeric to his meals in addition to CBD to help with his arthritis and inflammation.  I was willing to try anything to help him be more comfortable.  He looked especially cute when he’d come for pets after eating and have a slightly orange tinge on his old man mustache.

Now, we actually have a formula that puts the two together CBD + Curcumin in a softgel.  I took one today because the work I did yesterday left my upper body sore.  It definitely took the edge off for me. Since the NSAIDS typically give me belly aches, I appreciate the alternative.  Also, we have CBD in our bodies already.  Our bodies produce it and we can get it from our food.  I feel a lot better about putting something into my body that already exists.  NSAIDS don’t exist in our bodies naturally.

The next time I take on a physically challenging task, I will take the CBD + Curcumin softgel before and then probably the next day, too.  It works great since I take CBD daily anyway.  Now, I’m just giving myself a boost to prepare for the muscle soreness.

I think I hear a hot bath with a CBD bath bomb calling my name.

Stay well, friends. You are important.

CBD ROCKS!
